Ink & Teal / Consulting

A consulting proposal for a fixed-fee, ten-week engagement: the client’s challenge, objectives and how success is judged, a four-stage approach in tabs, scope and responsibilities, a timeline with a chart of consulting days, the team, a similar client’s results, three fixed-fee options the client chooses on the page with extras, and common questions.

Thank you for walking me through where {{CLIENT_COMPANY}} is today. You have a capable team and a clear ambition, but competing priorities and too little time to step back and decide what to do first.

This proposal sets out a ten-week engagement on {{ENGAGEMENT_FOCUS}}. You get an outside view built on your own data and people, a short list of decisions with the evidence behind each, and a 90-day plan with owners. The fee is fixed.

Introduction

What we heard

Three problems came up in every conversation. The engagement is built around them.

Every team has a plan, but there is no agreed order. Budget and attention are spread thin across all of them.

Too many priorities

The data exists in finance, sales and operations, but nobody has joined it up to show which options pay back.

Decisions on instinct

Past strategy work produced a document, not change. Owners and next steps were never agreed.

Plans that stall

The challenge

Objectives

Four stages, each ending with a review with you, so nothing in the final plan is a surprise.

Weeks 1 to 3

Interviews with your leadership team and up to ten managers, a review of your plans and financials, and conversations with five customers.

Discover

Weeks 3 to 5

We join your sales, finance and operations data to show where growth and cost really come from, and test the assumptions behind current plans.

Diagnose

Weeks 6 and 7

A half-day leadership workshop compares the options side by side and agrees a ranked list of priorities.

Decide

Weeks 8 to 10

Each priority becomes a 90-day plan with owners, budget and measures, and a scorecard to track it.

Common questions

No. We commit to the work, the analysis and a plan your team agrees with. The results depend on the decisions you make and how the plan is delivered.

Can you guarantee the results?

About an hour each for interviews, a 30-minute weekly check-in with your sponsor and a half-day workshop in week 6 or 7.

How much time will our leadership team need?

It usually is. We work with what exists, say clearly where figures are estimates and list what to start measuring.

What if our data is incomplete?

Yes. Everything is covered by a confidentiality agreement, interview notes are summarised without names and all material belongs to you.

Is what we share kept confidential?

Yes. If a bigger issue emerges in Discover, we agree any change with you in writing before doing extra work.

Can the scope change once we start?
